Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
Location: Watford
Salary: £51,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
A leading construction and engineering firm is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Watford. This is a great chance to take the lead on complex civil and structural projects and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:
- Lead and manage the design and engineering phases of major projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Produce, review, and approve engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure design alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and address technical challenges.
- Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and project planning activities.
- Ensure project milestones, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Chartered or working towards CEng status
- Strong design background in civil or structural engineering
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar
- Solid understanding of codes, standards, and regulations
- Great communicator and confident team player
