Reporting to:Head Chef

Contract:Full Time

Summary:Supports Head Chef in overseeing and directing all aspects of the kitchen operation. Experience working in a high volume and fast-paced kitchen, great passion for food, create a positive environment by Owning the Fun and leadership are necessary for success in this position.


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Report for duty punctually for every shift, in complete, clean uniform and sign in with their line manager.
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure the kitchen meets high standards of quality and health and safety
  • Strong leadership skills and lead by example by demonstrating Puttshack Core Values.
  • Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and company standards
  • Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized.
  • Provides guidance to the rest of the team, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation and dish plating.
  • Oversees and organises kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Training and coaching more junior chefs
  • Assure that all the Associates in the kitchen have completed the Food and Safety trainings
  • Get along with others and be a team player
  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Associate Handbook.
  • To communicate with the Duty Manager regarding any problems or issues with equipment or stock.
  • Liaise with all the kitchen staff to ensure that all Health and Safety Policies are in place.
  • Ensures all cleaning processes are followed during set up, service and clean down.
  • Complete food hygiene documents to comply with the law
  • Ensure that the Puttshack safety image is reflected positively through your actions
  • To observe the Companys rules and procedures and carry out any reasonable request made by their Manager, supervisor or the duty manager.
  • To attend training sessions and team meetings as required and to be involved and contribute

Essential Requirements
  • Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience in a Junior Sous Position
  • Hold a valid right to work in the UK
  • Available to work flexible shifts between Monday - Sunday, on a full time basis. (Day time & Evening Shifts.)
