The Role – Lending Director – Development Finance
As Lending Director, you’ll play a central role in driving new business, structuring complex development deals, and overseeing the full lifecycle of each facility. You’ll have full ownership of the relationships and the loans you originate – from initial structuring through to completion, drawdowns, and redemption.
You’ll be supported by a well-resourced team, have direct access to decision-makers, and the autonomy to shape how you work. As the portfolio grows, you’ll also have the opportunity to build and manage a team around you.
Lending Director – Development Finance Key Responsibilities
- Originate development finance facilities through your own network of brokers, developers, and introducers
- Structure and underwrite bespoke development loans, presenting credit papers to the Credit Committee
- Manage the full deal lifecycle, including legals, valuations, monitoring reports, drawdowns and redemptions
- Maintain and grow a high-quality performing loan book
- Build and lead a small team as the portfolio scales
- Act as a senior figure internally and externally – a face of the business in the development finance market
Lending Director – Development Finance Package & Benefits

Skills & Experience Required
- Proven track record in development finance lending – from origination to portfolio management
- Strong network of brokers, developers, and intermediaries
- Excellent understanding of development appraisals, credit risk, and underwriting process
- Confident presenting credit papers and negotiating deal terms
- Highly organised, proactive, and commercially driven
- Experience in a similar role at a bank, non-bank lender, or specialist finance house
