SEN School - Teaching Assistant
Full-Time | Long-Term | September 2025 Start

Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with an outstanding SEN school in Watford. We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and a range of other complex learning difficulties. If you are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role:

You will work closely with classroom teachers and SEND specialists to support students across Key Stages 2–4 within a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. Your support will help learners build confidence, develop key life skills, and achieve their academic and personal development goals.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs

  • Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional resilience

  • Adapting learning resources to engage students effectively

  • Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and behaviour support plans

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Helping to create a calm and inclusive classroom atmosphere

  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and well-being

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and confidently

  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and inclusive education

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
