Think Specialist Recruitment are pleased to be working with a great organisation based in the Watford area. Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This opportunity would suit someone who is technically minded, has experience within estimating and ideally with a HVAC background. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be happy providing a good level of service to customers.
Salary - up to 38,000 depending on experience
This position will be initially office based but move to hybrid working after training
Some of the duties will include:
- Supporting the UK sales team with customer enquiries, answering incoming calls and providing technical assistance
- Manage and support the production of commercial and domestic designs, quotations and estimates
- Provide engineering support to clients by producing technical drawings, hydraulic calculations and material lists
- Working with sales and marketing teams to offer technical support
- Managing project schedules and engineering design deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Communicating project timelines with clients
- Assist in reviewing, developing and improving design and estimating tools, processes and procedures
The suitable candidate:
- Previous experience within design and estimating
- Experience within HVAC or plumbing/heating systems is desirable
- Strong technical understanding of design principles
- Good knowledge of building materials and product standards
- Good communication skills with the ability to provide a good level of customer service
- Good team player with the ability to work on own initiative
