M4 Specialist are working in partnership with our client that is a leading builders merchant within the South East. They have an excellent opportunity arise within their Watford depot for an Internal Sales Executive on a permanent basis.

Location:Watford


Working Hours:Monday to Thursday: 07:00am 16:30pm

Friday: 07:00am 16:00pm

Saturday: 07:30am 10:30am (Every other Saturday)

Salary:£32k + (depending on experience)

Are you a skilled sales professional with a strong understanding of customer needs and a technical mindset? As an Internal Sales Executive, youll bring advanced knowledge and a solutions-focused approach to help customers navigate complex product choices and enhance our clients internal sales capability.

This role offers the perfect opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of key customer accounts, deliver technical support, and work closely with the branch team to grow business strategically and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

As an Internal Sales Executive, youll be a go-to expert in the branch. Your day-to-day work will focus on:

  • Customer Relationship Management: Building strong, trusted relationships with a portfolio of key customers, understanding their technical and commercial needs, and helping to secure repeat business through reliable, knowledgeable service.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Supporting the internal sales function by proactively identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and solutions from our extensive range of building materials.
  • Technical Expertise: Advising customers and colleagues alike on product specifications, alternatives, and system compatibility. Your knowledge will support both day-to-day orders and larger project enquiries.
  • Order and Enquiry Management: Processing quotes and orders accurately while handling customer queries confidently both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Team Collaboration: Acting as a support pillar for the branch team, helping to coach junior staff when needed and driving the branch toward shared sales targets and service goals.

What Youll Bring to the Role

  • Proven experience in sales, ideally within a building materials sales environment
  • In-depth product knowledge and the ability to understand customer applications and specifications
  • Confidence in handling large and/or complex customer enquiries
  • A proactive and motivated attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
