Payroll Accounts Assistant

The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Accounts Assistant to join their busy Finance team on a hybrid basis. This is a varied and crucial role encompassing end-to-end payroll processing alongside responsibilities in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong numerical and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Payroll:
- Processing monthly and weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Managing starters and leavers, including processing relevant documentation and final payments.
- Preparing and submitting payroll reports to relevant authorities (e.g., HMRC).
- Dealing with payroll queries from employees in a professional and efficient manner.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Accounts Payable:
- Processing invoices and ensuring accurate coding and authorisation.
- Preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements.
- Dealing with supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships.
- Maintaining accurate AP records.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes.
- Processing receipts and allocating payments accurately.
- Chasing outstanding debts and maintaining accurate AR records.
- Reconciling customer accounts.
- General:
- Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Providing support to the wider Finance team as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Proven experience in processing end-to-end payroll.
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation and best practices.
- Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
