We are currently working with a well-established secondary school in Watford, known for its dedication to fostering creativity, academic excellence, and both student and staff development. The school prides itself on offering an inclusive environment where both personal growth and artistic expression are nurtured. They are now seeking a passionate Art Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Art Teacher or an enthusiastic early-career teacher to inspire students and help cultivate their creative talents. The role will involve teaching Art and Design across KS3 and KS4, with potential to teach KS5 depending on experience.

• Deliver inspiring and well-structured Art lessons across KS3 and KS4, encouraging students to explore their creativity and technical skills.

• Teach a broad range of artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.

• Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment where students can express themselves, explore new ideas, and collaborate.

• Regularly assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.

• Develop and deliver creative projects that allow students to showcase their artistic abilities.

• Contribute to curriculum planning, ensuring that lessons are tailored to meet diverse student needs.

• Assist in organizing art exhibitions and school events to showcase students' work within the school and the wider community.

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Art lessons that inspire creativity and self-expression.

• Encourage a practical, hands-on approach to learning, using various artistic techniques.

• Track and assess student progress regularly, offering feedback and guidance to ensure continuous improvement.

• Support students in developing critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills.

• Collaborate with the Art department to plan and deliver a dynamic, enriching curriculum.

• Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, including art clubs and events.

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not essential).

• Experience teaching Art and Design at secondary school level.

• Strong knowledge of the Art curriculum and the ability to deliver engaging, creative lessons.

• A practical, hands-on approach to teaching, with the ability to engage students in various artistic techniques.

• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
