Are you an enthusiastic DT teacher or Graphics teacher looking to join an academic and well run school on the outskirts of Watford? Tradewind Recruitment are partnered with this leading school to help source a teacher from September to work on a full time, permanent basis and support across a range of DT subjects, including graphics, resistant materials, to students from Year 7 to Year 11.

The successful DT teacher will be joining a popular and well run department who support each other with shared planning and scaffolding, team meetings and a superb HOD. We are looking for Teachers with a passion for design and technology, and track record of delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire and motivate students. The school are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment that helps all students to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Full teaching responsibilities including planning differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students
  • Marking homework and assessments and tracking attainment in line with school policies
  • Provide regular feedback to students, parents and SLT
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and community by encouraging and supporting extracurricular activities and events where you've availability (not compulsory)
  • Promote the values and school ethos of respect at all times

Requirements:

  • A degree in Design Technology or a related subject
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or recent experience of teaching a DT subject
  • Knowledge of the UK curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work consistently on an independent basis as well as part of a team

This is a full-time, permanent position, starting in September 2025 and is offered on a full time, 0.8 or 0.6 basis. The salary range is competitive and dependent on experience. You will only be required to support with your subject and not Food / Textiles.
