SEN Learning Support Assistant – Watford

Salary: £80 - £110 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time

We’re working with a specialist school in Watford that supports children and young people with autism and complex needs. The school is known for its child-centred approach, high staff-to-student ratio, and strong multi-disciplinary team.

They are currently seeking a caring and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the team on a full-time, term-time only basis. This is an ideal role for someone with a passion for SEN and a desire to make a real difference in students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and associated needs

  • Assist in delivering tailored education and therapy programmes

  • Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills

  • Help manage behaviour positively and promote emotional well-being

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers

  • Support with personal care needs where required

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress tracking

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (preferred)

  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach

  • Works well as part of a team and takes initiative

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is open to training and ongoing professional development

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply for one)
