SEND Teaching Assistant

Rotherham, S63

Contract type: Temp-Perm

Working hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:30 - 15:30 (term time only)

Unique School Solutions are supporting a primary school in the S63 area of Rotherham, to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in EYFS supporting a child on a 1:1 basis, but also across the school. The role will entail supporting a non verbal child in EYFS in the mornings, and supporting small groups of SEND students higher up in the school in the afternoon.

Initially, this role will be long-term temporary however there is the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate, following a successful probation period.

Essential requirements for the role:

- Previous experience working within a school (mainstream or special)

- Experience supporting children with SEND

- Minimum Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

- Good differentiation skills

- Ability to use own initiative and work with other support staff

- Ability to build rapport with young learners

- Positive classroom management in line with school policies

- Ability to support small groups with learning
