A well-established and respected mechanical contractor, based in Oxfordshire, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join its growing team. Specialising in mechanical installations for new build developments — including residential housing, care homes, and commercial buildings — the company has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and successful delivery. Working with leading national developers and main contractors, they are expanding their operations and looking for a motivated professional to lead key projects.
This is a hands-on, senior site-based role leading the mechanical package on new build projects from pre-construction to handover. You’ll coordinate all aspects of mechanical delivery, working closely with supply chain partners, consultants, and site teams to ensure that each project meets its programme, budget, and quality targets.

Commercial and mixed-use new builds (including offices and light industrial units)

Manage full project lifecycle for mechanical works (value £500k-£3m)

Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors

Liaise with clients and consultants, maintaining excellent relationships

Manage budgets, procurement schedules, and project documentation
-
Conduct site meetings and technical reviews
-
3+ years’ experience managing mechanical works on new build projects

Solid knowledge of systems: heating, hot & cold water, ventilation, renewables

Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage site installations
-
Familiarity with building regulations, CDM, and standards (CIBSE, BESA, etc.)

Commercial acumen and experience with JCT and D&B contracts

Full UK driving licence

NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating (Level 3 preferred)

CSCS Manager/Supervisor card
