Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest. You'll be supporting a pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis, helping them access the curriculum and navigate the school day with confidence and care.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with ASD and communication needs, who is patient, consistent, and able to foster strong, trusting relationships with young learners.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with autism in a mainstream classroom

  • Using strategies such as visual timetables, social stories, and sensory breaks

  • Supporting classroom learning, social skills, and emotional regulation

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Encouraging independence while providing structure and reassurance



What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, especially ASD

  • A calm, empathetic and consistent approach to behaviour and learning

  • Someone confident in supporting pupils both in class and during transitions

  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
