Position: Design & Production Engineer
Location: Wednesbury
Salary: 30,000- 35,000
Design & Production Engineer required for our Client, a manufacturer based in Wednesbury. This role will suit a technically minded individual with a background in mechanical design and production engineering. You will be responsible for taking product concepts from design brief through to production, ensuring products meet required quality and manufacturing standards.
This is an on-site position, offering a 39-hour working week, working closely with the Design Manager and wider engineering team.
Job Overview
- Create 3D designs and technical drawings using SolidWorks
- Interpret design briefs and develop detailed engineering plans
- Support the transition of products from design into manufacturing
- Assist in defining and maintaining quality control standards
- Collaborate with the Design Manager and production team to resolve engineering challenges
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Provide technical input throughout the product lifecycle
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in a Design or Production Engineering role
- Strong SolidWorks proficiency is essential
- Background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of quality standards and production processes
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline preferred
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: 30,000 - 35,000 (dependent on experience)
- Working hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
- Friday: 07:30 - 12:30 (39-hour week)
