We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Purchasing and Project Support Coordinator to join our growing team in Wednesbury. This role is ideal for someone with a background in engineering or manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You will play a vital role in supporting both purchasing functions and project management, requiring strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities of this Purchasing and Project Support Coordinator position: 
  • Interpret and break down bespoke engineering drawings to identify and source required materials and components.

  • Execute and manage all purchasing activities—ensuring cost-effective, timely procurement aligned with project deadlines.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.

  • Support project planning and scheduling using Microsoft Project; update and maintain accurate project timelines.

  • Assist in the creation, review, and control of quality documentation and compliance certifications.

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments—ensuring alignment between purchasing, production, and quality functions.

  • Track and report on project milestones, highlighting any issues or delays and supporting corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all purchasing and project support activities in accordance with company standards and industry regulations.

Essential Skills & Experience: 
  • Proven ability to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

  • Strong working knowledge of quality documentation processes in an engineering environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Experience in purchasing, supply chain coordination, or project support within an engineering or manufacturing setting.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience in bespoke manufacturing or project-based engineering environments.

  • Understanding of ISO quality standards and regulatory compliance.
