We are currently recruiting for an Electronics Assembler to join a well-established engineering and repair business based in Wellingborough. This role involves assembling, testing, and repairing customer-returned mobile devices and other electronic products, ensuring they are fully functional before being returned to customers.

Location: Wellingborough
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: 28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent

Duties:

  • Assemble and test electronic devices to relevant procedures and specifications
  • Diagnose and repair faults on customer-returned devices using both manual and automated processes
  • Disassemble, reassemble, clean, and prepare devices for return to customers
  • Maintain accurate repair and assembly records using internal databases
  • Operate and maintain test equipment to required standards
  • Identify and escalate process, quality, and performance issues to management
  • Provide technical feedback to support engineering improvements
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet deadlines and quality targets

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have experience as an Electronic Assembler, in PCB rework, or in technical production work
  • Be confident using soldering tools, hand tools, and power tools
  • Have the ability to read and follow technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality awareness
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Apple certification or similar electronics repair qualifications are desirable but not essential
