Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established business based in Northants (NN6 area) who are looking to recruit a Test Technician to join their Service Centre team on a permanent basis. This is a varied, technical, and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with tools, diagnosing faults and restoring products to a high standard.

Location: Northants (NN6)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: 27,500 - 30,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Permanent

Duties:

  • Processing customer returns accurately and efficiently
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on returned equipment
  • Reconditioning products for reuse or recycling
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding warranty and non-warranty items
  • Preparing quotations and assessing repair viability
  • Supporting new product launches through testing and quality checks
  • Communicating with customers via email and telephone regarding technical queries
  • Maintaining accurate records and internal documentation
  • Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Assisting with manual handling using pallet trucks and other handling equipment

The ideal candidate:

  • Is good with their hands and confident using tools
  • Has a natural interest in fixing, building or repairing things
  • May have completed a college course in engineering, mechanics, electronics or similar (not essential)
  • Could come from a workshop, production, mechanical, electrical or technical background (preferred but not essential)
  • Is reliable, well organised and has strong attention to detail
  • Has a positive, "can-do" attitude and is willing to learn
  • Is comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
