Mploy Staffing Solutions are currently partnered with a well renowned Law Firm based in Wellington, supporting with their recruitment of a Legal Secretary to join the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with prior secretarial experience, or someone looking to begin their career within the legal industry. This role offers exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to learn alongside growing with the business.

This Legal Secretary role includes the following duties:

Legal Secretarial Duties:
  • Manage client matters professionally and courteously.

  • Maintain high-quality service to prevent client complaints.

  • Use case management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, 365).

  • Draft correspondence, documents, records, presentations, and accounts.

  • Manage diaries, book appointments/meetings.

  • Attend meetings and assist with note-taking.

  • Create, photocopy, and print legal documents.

Reception Duties:
  • Manage meeting room diaries and maintain rooms.

  • Notify staff promptly about client appointments.

  • Handle reception-related administrative tasks.

  • Provide assistance to colleagues during meetings as needed.

  • Answer phone calls promptly and take accurate messages.

General Office Support:
  • Comply with the firm’s Office Quality Manual and policies.

  • Support colleagues during holidays/sickness.

  • Assist with post duties (opening, sorting, franking, etc.).

  • Adhere to the Equality and Diversity Policy.

The ideal candidate for this Legal Secretary role will have the following experience:

  • Legal office experience desirable.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Professional, friendly, and reliable demeanor.

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
