Health & Safety Manager required for a leading client based in Welwyn Garden City. The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for managing and advising on the Health and Safety Function - Managing risk, conducting audits, investigation of incidents and implementing health and safety management systems. Responsible for ensuring standards are maintained as well as compliance surrounding health and safety strategy.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Keep accurate records of fire safety, accidents, first aid, and precautionary measures.
  • Analyse accident and near-miss trends to improve H&S policies and risk assessments.
  • Manage emergency arrangements and maintain a hazard log.
  • Support environmental, COSHH, FRA, DSE, and personal risk assessments, developing Safe Systems of Work.
  • Investigate incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Ensure essential H&S training is included in the matrix and completed by employees.
  • Deliver workplace safety training and inductions.
  • Conduct audits to identify hazards and improvements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture with employee participation.
  • Oversee H&S communication, including the Health & Safety Committee.
  • Maintain and enhance H&S systems (HSG65/ISO 45001).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for effective implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and food manufacturing standards.
