Our client, is seeking a dedicated Planning Officer/Senior to join their team on a contract basis. This role, involves handling cases including new conversions, changes of use, minor and small major new residential developments, and prior approvals. Hybrid working arrangements are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing development management cases such as new conversions and changes of use
- Overseeing minor and small major new residential developments
- Handling prior approvals efficiently and effectively
- Presenting cases to the Committee as required, providing comprehensive and accurate information
- Maintaining detailed records of all planning activities and decisions
- Collaborating with other council departments and external stakeholders to facilitate project approvals
- Ensuring compliance with relevant planning legislation and policies
- Providing professional advice on complex planning issues
Job Requirements:
- Experience in development management within the planning sector
- Strong understanding of planning legislation and policy framework
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to present cases to the Committee
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in planning or a related discipline
