Our client, is seeking a dedicated Planning Officer/Senior to join their team on a contract basis. This role, involves handling cases including new conversions, changes of use, minor and small major new residential developments, and prior approvals. Hybrid working arrangements are available.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing development management cases such as new conversions and changes of use
  • Overseeing minor and small major new residential developments
  • Handling prior approvals efficiently and effectively
  • Presenting cases to the Committee as required, providing comprehensive and accurate information
  • Maintaining detailed records of all planning activities and decisions
  • Collaborating with other council departments and external stakeholders to facilitate project approvals
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant planning legislation and policies
  • Providing professional advice on complex planning issues


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in development management within the planning sector
  • Strong understanding of planning legislation and policy framework
  • Proven ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to present cases to the Committee
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in planning or a related discipline
