Part-Time Class Teacher (KS1) via Academics

Contract: (Fixed-Term, Job Share until August 2026, with possible extension)

Location: Hertfordshire (school local to the Watford area)

Working Pattern: Part-time (job share)

Salary: Main Pay Scale (pro rata)

Start Date: Preferably November 2025, but open to a January 2026 start for the right candidate

The successful candidate will join a motivated and collaborative team, delivering high-quality, engaging learning for KS1 pupils. You will be comfortable using your own initiative, working with kindness, patience, and calm, and committed to supporting all pupils to thrive in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons for KS1 pupils; fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where children feel safe, valued, challenged, and supported.
  • working with your job-share partner to ensure continuity, coherence of planning, and shared responsibility for class progress; monitoring and assessing pupil progress and intervening as needed to support learning or close gaps
  • Contributing to school improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and collaborative practice with colleagues; building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents to promote strong communication and trust; and upholding school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.

The school is looking for a teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ideally with experience teaching in KS1, although strong Early Career Teachers will also be considered. Applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of primary curriculum, assessment, and differentiation, alongside excellent behaviour management, class leadership, and interpersonal skills.

You must be able to work flexibly and collaboratively in a job-share arrangement and show a commitment to inclusion, well-being, and ensuring every pupil achieves their best, with a calm, patient, kind, and resilient approach.
