Location: Hertfordshire
Type: Full-time, Permanent (office-based initially, moving to hybrid once trained)
Working Hours: 10:00 - 19:00
Salary: Up to £35,000

My client is looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Buyer to join their busy Procurement team at the office in Hertfordshire. This role is key to ensuring smooth operations across the business - managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting both suppliers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily purchase order requests and follow-ups

  • Ensure correct application of discounts and escalate high-volume opportunities

  • Update ETAs in SAP, resolving backorder issues efficiently

  • Build and maintain strong supplier/vendor relationships

  • Provide first-class internal customer service

  • Support the finance team with invoice or credit discrepancies

  • Contribute to wider procurement and operational initiatives as required

About You

  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Buyer or in a similar role

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); SAP Business One/Netsuite preferred

  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Self-motivated and collaborative team player

  • Knowledge of the security industry is advantageous
