About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Asset Surveyor to join our established Asset Management team within a leading social housing provider. Operating across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the value, safety, and sustainability of our housing stock.

This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary of 58,000 and excellent benefits. You will lead on strategic asset surveys, stock condition assessments, and capital investment planning to ensure high-quality homes for our residents.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed stock condition surveys across a diverse housing portfolio.

  • Analyse asset performance data to inform long-term investment planning and option appraisals.

  • Prepare reports on property condition, lifecycle costs, and asset sustainability.

  • Support the development and delivery of the 5-30-year asset management strategy.

  • Provide technical expertise in planned works, decarbonisation, and compliance.

  • Ensure that all surveys are conducted in line with HHSRS, Decent Homes Standard, and other statutory requirements.

  • Work closely with repairs, housing management, and development teams to ensure a collaborative approach to asset management.

  • Mentor and support junior surveyors in the team.



About You

  • Degree-qualified or professionally accredited (e.g., RICS, CIOB) in Building Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in asset management or stock surveying within the social housing sector.

  • Strong understanding of housing standards, compliance requirements, and sustainability principles.

  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and IT skills (experience with asset management systems advantageous).

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and work across teams.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
