Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Primary SEND School in Brent, which includes a dedicated Hearing Impaired Unit, to recruit a British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to start in September.

The RoleIn this role, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with hearing impairments, helping them to access learning through the use of British Sign Language. You will work closely with specialist teachers of the deaf, SENCOs, speech and language therapists, and classroom staff to support pupils' language development, communication, and emotional well-being. The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and communication for all learners.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A minimum of BSL Level 2 qualification (Level 3 desirable)

  • Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children in an educational setting

  • An understanding of SEND, particularly in a primary or specialist school context

  • A calm, empathetic, and supportive approach

  • Strong communication and team-working skills

  • Full-time availability from September 2025
