About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science Department to deliver engaging and practical science lessons. You'll ensure all labs are prepared with the necessary equipment and materials, maintain a safe working environment, and support both teachers and students during practical experiments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for lessons.

  • Assist in demonstrations and practical activities across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

  • Maintain and clean equipment and laboratories in line with health and safety protocols.

  • Manage stock levels and order supplies when needed.

  • Ensure safe storage and disposal of chemicals and biological specimens.

  • Support teachers and pupils during practical lessons as required.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory or educational environment is desirable.
  • Science qualifications at A-level or equivalent; a degree in a science subject is advantageous.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a lab setting.

  • A commitment to supporting young people's education and development.
