We are seeking a committed individual with a specialism in either Biology or Chemistry to lead our vibrant Science Department. The Role:
As Head of Science, you will:
- Lead and manage the Science Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a broad and engaging curriculum in line with national standards
- Inspire and motivate both students and staff to achieve academic excellence
- Oversee the delivery of Biology or Chemistry, ensuring lessons are engaging and innovative
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and education and training within the department
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to drive whole-school initiatives
- A qualified teacher with QTS and a strong background in Biology or Chemistry
- Proven leadership experience, either as a Head of Science or in a middle management role
- A passion for science and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively
- A commitment to high standards in education and training
- A strategic thinker with a vision for the future of science education
- Live in or be able to reliably commute to Brent
