The Role
As an Assistant to our Head Baker, you will be responsible for all aspects of the bakery in their absence. You will be an effective leader with good product knowledge, personable and passionate about artisanal products.
Qualifications / Experience
Experience in a comparative role with a minimum of 3 years experience
Experience in high-quality, high volume environment
Experience leading a team and production in Head Bakers absence
Experience managing and maintaining health and hygiene practices
Flexibility, reliability, and adaptability
Oral and written fluency in English
A passion to be creative and develop themselves
Right to work and reside in the UK a must
Job Responsibilities / Summary
Maintain the standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping within their area appropriate to a quality production bakery
Ensure high standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency across all bread lines
Ability to train and develop junior bakers to a high level in mixing, shaping, baking whilst overseeing their general development and maintaining a positive environment
Maintain stock levels, stock rotation and highlight ordering where necessary
Keep all HACCP documents up to date across all sections
Support the Head Baker in leading day-to-day bread production.
Play a key role in innovation and recipe development while upholding Bread Aheads artisan values.
Paid overtime available when required
Working Hours - 42.5 per week across 7 days as required
