A knowledgeable and engaging History Teacher is required for a permanent part-time position at an Outstanding girls' school in Brent, commencing in September. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire young women with the fascinating stories of the past and develop their critical thinking skills across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) within a supportive and high-achieving environment in West London.
Responsibilities
- You will plan and deliver captivating History lessons that bring the past to life, fostering curiosity and a deep understanding of historical events and their significance.
- The role involves expertly guiding students through diverse historical periods and interpretations, following a well-structured and enriching curriculum.
- You will cultivate a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore historical sources, engage in thoughtful discussions, and develop their analytical skills.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in History is essential.
- Experience teaching engaging and effective History lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
- A deep and current understanding of British and world history, coupled with the ability to make the subject relevant and engaging for girls, is expected.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong classroom management, are vital.
