Job Title: Senior Support Worker - Women's Hostel
Location: North West London (Edgware Road)
Salary: 14.00 - 16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time (Shifts include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of a rota)

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team at a specialist women's hostel in North West London. This is a vital service supporting women affected by homelessness, mental health challenges, trauma, and multiple complex needs.
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll lead by example, providing high-quality, trauma-informed support and guiding a small team to deliver effective, person-centred care that empowers each woman to move forward with dignity and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support to women with complex needs, including mental ill-health, substance misuse, and experiences of domestic abuse or street homelessness
Support the Team Leader with shift management, supervision, and mentoring of junior staff and volunteers
Hold a caseload of residents and develop personalised support plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding measures
Create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment within the hostel
Liaise with external agencies including mental health teams, housing providers, social services, and community organisations
Support residents in developing life skills and working towards greater independence
Ensure all support is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and culturally sensitive
Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of service delivery in line with organisational policies
About You:
Proven experience supporting vulnerable women, particularly those experiencing homelessness and complex needs
Strong understanding of trauma, safeguarding, and mental health issues
Confident in managing challenging behaviour with empathy and professionalism
Ability to lead, motivate and support a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, organisational, and partnership-working skills
IT literacy and experience using support databases (e.g., In-Form, CHAIN)
A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Housing, or related field (Level 3 or above preferred)
