The Opportunity

Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Willesden Green to recruit a caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant. The school prides itself on inclusion and providing every child with an engaging, nurturing learning experience from the earliest stages.

You will be based in the Reception classroom, offering consistent support to three pupils-two with ASD and one with Down's Syndrome. The role combines one-on-one tutoring, group-based interaction, and emotional support throughout the school day.

Your ability to manage routines, stay calm under pressure, and support independence will be key. You'll assist the class teacher with adapting learning activities, apply positive behaviour management techniques, and contribute to progress monitoring. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact in a school that values teamwork and holistic development.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children in Early Years, especially with ASD or Down's Syndrome.
  • Comfortable using visual aids, timetables, and other structured tools.
  • Confident managing mild to moderate behaviours using calm, consistent strategies.
  • Ability to adapt lesson materials and contribute to lesson planning.
  • Familiarity with progress monitoring tools and pupil support planning.
