About the school: A small, supportive pupil referral unit providing education for students aged 5-18 who cannot attend mainstream schools. The college offers personalised learning, strong pastoral care, and a focus on reintegration and achievement.
About the role: You will work closely with teachers to support SEN students, provide one-to-one and small group interventions, and assist with lesson delivery. A trauma-informed approach and understanding of psychological needs are essential to help learners overcome barriers to education.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Provide targeted support to SEN learners across age groups
- Use trauma-informed strategies to build resilience and engagement
- Assist with lesson planning and delivery
- Offer one-to-one tutoring and small group interventions
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Contribute to the wider school community and safeguarding practices
Requirements - The ideal candidate would have:
- Extensive experience supporting SEN students
- Tutoring experience or SEN-specific qualifications
- Background in psychology or trauma-informed practice
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
