Year 5-6 SEN Teacher (Cover)
Location: Brent
Job Type: Full Time - Cover
Salary: 200-250 daily (based on experience)
Remedy Education is working with a brand-new SEN school in Brent to recruit a dedicated Year 5-6 SEN Teacher (Cover). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team in a school that caters for pupils aged 7-16, all of whom are verbal, largely independent, and diagnosed with autism. Small class sizes and a nurturing environment allow staff to provide personalised learning, while consistency and clear routines help pupils thrive.
The Role
We are seeking a confident, flexible teacher to provide full-time cover within a Year 5-6 class. You'll be leading small groups, delivering pre-prepared lessons, and ensuring pupils remain engaged, supported, and on track with their learning. Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider team, you'll help to create a calm, structured classroom where pupils can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and support Year 5-6 pupils with autism in the absence of their class teacher.
Deliver planned lessons and adapt activities where needed to meet individual needs.
Manage behaviour positively and in line with the school's approaches.
Collaborate with support staff to build independence and encourage positive engagement.
Report progress, concerns, or issues to senior staff as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience in primary or SEN.
Experience supporting pupils with autism and additional needs.
Strong classroom management with a calm, confident approach.
Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt within a developing school.
This is an excellent chance to be part of a growing SEN school community and to make a meaningful impact on children's learning and development.
