2nd Line Support Engineer

West Bromwich (3 days a week in the office) - commutable from Birmingham, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Oldbury, or any surrounding areas

Up to £35,000 per annum

A growing MSP in West Bromwich are looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join the team. This business support other businesses with building cloud-based and on-premise applications for various industries. They have been going for more than 20 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line support for IT infrastructure issues, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Implement and manage system upgrades, patches, and configurations.
  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and solutions for future reference.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure IT infrastructure aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an IT infrastructure role, with a focus on 2nd line support.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and it's components.
  • Experience with WIndows Server (2016 or later)
  • Experience with Exchange Server
  • Strong understanding of vSphere systems.
  • Understanding with how VPN's work, both client VPN's and site-to-site VPN's.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
