Teaching Assistant (SEN) – KS2 – West Bromwich

Smart Education are proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic primary school in West Bromwich, who are seeking a dedicated and confident SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 2 with additional needs.

This is a rewarding role for someone with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and the ability to create a positive, nurturing learning environment.

The Role:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a KS2 pupil who has additional learning and behavioural needs
  • Supporting the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
  • Implementing effective de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored support plans
  • Promoting inclusion and ensuring the pupil can access all areas of the curriculum

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting or within a mainstream school supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence in de-escalation strategies
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Relevant experience and references
  • Right to work in the UK
