Bus and Coach Engineer

Location: Byfleet, Surrey
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Assistant Engineering Manager
Hours: 12:00 pm - 12:00 am, 4 on / 4 off rota (average 42 hours per week)
Pay Rate: 22.55 per hour



Main Objective

We are seeking two experienced and qualified Bus & Coach Engineers to join our Engineering team in Byfleet, Surrey. The ideal candidates will have at least 2 years' experience working as a PCV/Bus & Coach Engineer, with strong skills in maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.



Key Responsibilities

* Carry out daily maintenance on the company's bus and coach fleet
* Perform vehicle inspections in line with company and DVSA standards
* Diagnose faults (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) and complete repairs as required
* Prepare and present vehicles for annual MOT testing
* Attend roadside breakdowns and conduct necessary on-site repairs
* Identify and rectify running defects promptly
* Carry out general servicing and routine maintenance tasks
* Work effectively within a busy workshop environment and handle daily operational pressures
* Maintain high standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance at all times



Skills & Experience Required

* Minimum 2 years' experience as a PCV/Bus & Coach Engineer
* Strong diagnostic and repair abilities
* Good understanding of vehicle systems including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Full UK driving licence (PCV licence advantageous but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
