BALPA’s Head of HR and People is responsible for the HR functions for BALPA. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring keeping up to date HR records and expanding our digital HR programme; keeping our staff handbook up to date and working with our recognised trade union on new policies; advising the senior leadership team about individual management issues including performance and capability management, sickness absence, grievances and disciplinary matters.

The postholder will be responsible for reviewing our total benefits package and presenting recommendations for how this can be improved; assisting the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) to create staff development programmes for key staff groups; working with the General Secretary and SLT to implement recommendations from BALPA’s independent Culture Commission as they relate to HR issues.
