Job Title: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Supporting Neurodiverse Learners

About the Role:A dedicated and forward-thinking educational provider is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to work with autistic learners, helping them develop their communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist speech and language support tailored to neurodiverse students.
  • Apply evidence-based interventions, with a focus on the SCERTS Framework (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to create effective support plans.
  • Utilise AAC tools (PECS, Makaton, speech-generating devices) to enhance communication.
  • Contribute to EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) development and review processes.
  • Offer guidance on sensory processing needs and their impact on communication.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Degree in SLT or equivalent, with relevant licensure/HCPC registration).
  • Experience working with autistic children in educational or therapeutic settings.
  • Strong understanding of communication support strategies for neurodiverse learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to implement effective interventions.
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to making a meaningful impact.
