We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Westbury. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting children with additional needs and wants to play a key part in their development, wellbeing and daily learning.
The Role – Teaching AssistantAs a Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils aged 4–19 across a range of classes and learning environments. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 Teaching Assistant support and assisting small groups to help pupils stay engaged and make steady progress.

Supporting children with a wide variety of needs, including ASD, communication differences, sensory needs, PMLD, SEMH and developmental delays.

Contributing to a calm, structured and encouraging classroom atmosphere.

Offering help with personal care, feeding and mobility when needed (training can be given).

Building positive relationships with pupils and becoming a consistent source of support and reassurance.

Working closely with teachers, therapists and other Teaching Assistants to deliver well-coordinated support.

Using visual prompts, communication tools and structured routines to help pupils understand expectations and daily activities.

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant RoleTo be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you should:

Be patient, adaptable and able to remain calm in different situations.

Have experience supporting children or young people (any type of experience is welcomed).

Be comfortable assisting children with a range of additional or complex needs, including personal care.

Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

Ideally have a DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

Be open to ongoing professional development within your Teaching Assistant role.
£445 - £500 per week, depending on experience.
