Our client are an award-winning housebuilder in the north of Scotland. With a number of flagship developments under their belt and a continuous strive for excellence, they have a new requirement for a senior quantity surveyor to join the team. This role can be a mix of office/home and site-based for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of these g, ensuring these projects, making sure they are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial management of housebuilding projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
- Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimise project costs.
- Manage procurement processes and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide accurate and timely valuations, payments, and final accounts.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure project success.
- Analyse and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Extensive experience in quantity surveying within housebuilding and/or main contracting sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and financial management.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
