Teqniq is searching for aStrategy & Policy Development Support Officer to work in the public sector.

18.5 hours per week.

43 weeks contract.

Job Description:

We are looking for someone to have a shared lead responsibility for developing the Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) programme in North Somerset.

You will help coordinate a programme of physical and creative activities for children and young people across North Somerset. You will work in collaboration with activity providers, both private and voluntary sector, to ensure there is adequate holiday provision for children and young people in receipt of benefits related free school meals.

You will have

  • Qualification or experience to level 4 or above.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding protocols and the threshold levels for service users' groups.
  • Ability to engage with service users and partner agencies within the relevant codes of practice values (dignity, respect etc)
  • Well-developed ICT skills including a knowledge of Word, Excel Outlook and PowerPoint, good written and communication skills
  • Experience of managing budgets and reporting on performance.
  • Knowledge of School Food Standards
  • Knowledge of GDPR and Freedom of Information legislation
  • Ability to manage/organise own work to meet agreed deadlines
  • Understanding and recognition of professional & personal boundaries
  • Approved professional qualification relevant to the area of work or extensive practical experience of working with service user groups giving rise to a variety of technical skills and sound understanding of the services available, legal responsibilities, work practices and processes relevant to the role.
