We are seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our clients dedicated workshop team. This role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant maintenance of our fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment.
About the RoleAs part of the workshop team and reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for:

Carrying out safe, skilled, and professional maintenance and repairs to vehicles, plant, and equipment in line with DVSA and manufacturer standards.

Completing scheduled servicing, inspections, and MOT preparations.

Diagnosing faults, responding to breakdowns, and arranging recovery when required.

Maintaining high standards of health, safety, compliance, and internal customer service.

Providing technical advice, supporting apprentices, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Keeping accurate service records and ensuring workshop housekeeping is always of the highest standard.
Essential:
-
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Level 3).

HGV qualified technician at City & Guilds Level 1, 2 & 3 (or equivalent).

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Commercial Vehicle (HGV) Technician.

Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Experience in vehicle assessment, diagnostics, and repair.

Full Category B driving licence.

Strong organisational and communication skills.
Desirable:

LGV Class C / HGV Class 2 licence.

IOSH Working Safely qualification.

Welding/Fabrication certification and experience.

IRTEC qualification.

Experience maintaining refuse/recycling collection vehicles.

Plant and equipment knowledge.
