SEN TA

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN TA to join a welcoming SEN school in Weston-Super-Mare. This is a meaningful opportunity to support children with complex needs and challenging behaviours, helping them engage in education, build life skills, and grow in confidence.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to play a key role in shaping the lives of children who require consistency, patience, and understanding to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
  • Apply positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
  • Provide assistance with personal care and physical needs when necessary
  • Track and record pupil progress, raising concerns with relevant staff
  • Foster social, emotional, and academic development through supportive relationships
  • Encourage motivation and participation in classroom activities

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN or behavioural challenges
  • A calm, patient, and resilient attitude
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
  • Additional qualifications in SEN, childcare, or education (e.g. CACHE, NVQ) are desirable
