Responsibilities Of A Nursery Manager:

Leading the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient running at all times

Providing hands-on leadership to a small, committed team—offering guidance, mentoring and support to help them flourish professionally and emotionally

Upholding and exceeding EYFS standards, safeguarding requirements, and all relevant health & safety and regulatory guidelines

Managing staff rotas and performance reviews, ensuring the team is supported, well-staffed and aligned with the nursery’s values

Creating and maintaining a positive working culture, where communication, wellbeing and teamwork are prioritised

Building trusting relationships with families, ensuring they feel informed, supported and welcome at all times

Driving high standards in planning and delivering rich, child-centred learning experiences, encouraging curiosity, creativity and confidence in every child

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, whether through training, resources, or new ideas that benefit the nursery and the team
Requirements Of A Nursery Manager:
- Proven experience in managing a nursery

A qualified early years professional (Level 3 or above)

Strong understanding of early years curriculum and best practices in childcare

Ability to create a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children
