Job Title: Quality Engineer
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000

We currently on the lookout for a Lead Quality Engineer to join a leading Manufacturer of high-technology components, systems and assemblies for the Defence, Aerospace and Commercial sectors.

Quality Engineer's Daily tasks:

  • Implement and monitor Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with AS9100, company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support customer needs, including RCCA, business development, and workshops.
  • Lead on all quality matters internally and externally, including with suppliers.
  • Schedule and lead internal and external audits to maintain business accreditations.
  • Support company Red Table/RCCA activities.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager, with appropriate training or explanation.
  • Support and present at key customer business reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement and eliminate Non-Value Added activities.
  • Implement stronger quality controls and operating systems as a change agent.
  • Support and lead the development of lean and Six Sigma practices.
  • Manage and track department KPIs and recommend action plans.
  • Oversee the QA team's daily activities, skills development, training needs, and workload prioritisation.
  • Support the Quality Manager at FGP when needed.

Quality Engineer's Skills and experience required:

  • Knowledge of products and processes in aerospace part and assembly manufacturing.
  • Experience with Six Sigma tools.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Beneficial knowledge of AS, ISO, and NADCAP standards.
  • HNC in a relevant field or higher.
  • ISO 9001 lead audit trained.
