Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting a rough sleeper navigator for a client of ours based in Weymouth. The purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive service to a caseload of clients who are currently sleeping rough or in insecure accommodation in the Dorset Council area.

Location: Weymouth
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary
: 25,235 per annum
Main duties and responsibilities

  • Participation in an outreach rota which may include working early mornings, evening and weekends
  • To undertake assertive outreach and hot spot visits across the locality area
  • Carry out a strength-based assessment with each client and plan and enact support actions/interventions, which will assist clients to achieve their goals and move towards a sustainable life away from the streets.

Person Specification

  • Understanding of the needs of rough sleepers and the effects of trauma on individuals with complex lives
  • Resilience to work flexibly and creatively with individuals who may have seemingly intractable problems
  • Understanding of benefits, housing and homelessness legislation and housing options
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and professional boundaries
  • Previously worked with people who sleep rough and/or have relevant lived experience
