Job Title: Quality Inspector
Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30-16:30 and Friday 07:30-12:30 - 39 hours per week
Salary: £15.25 per hour
Position Summary:
Actio Recruitment are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to ensure all products meet customer specifications and engineering drawings. This role involves performing precise inspections using a range of measurement tools and systems, completing AS9102-compliant First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), and supporting quality assurance processes in line with AS9100 standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct First-Off, In-Process, Goods Inward, and Final Inspections in accordance with customer drawings and specifications.

Prepare and complete FAIRs to AS9102 standards.

Perform inspections using various measurement tools, including but not limited to: Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Plug and Thread Gauges, Shadowgraphs, Height Gauges, Trimos, CMMs, Faro Arms, Hommel, Profilometers, Surface Testers, Equator System, and Keyence equipment.

Interpret SPC and Process Capability data and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Follow Inspection Control Plans and maintain adherence to quality standards.

Support Red Table and RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) activities.

Carry out inspections for Vital and Flight Safety Parts and manage related documentation (Vital Part Packs).

Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Ensure all inspections are carried out with appropriate authorizations and in compliance with QMS regulations.

Report inspection findings to senior management as required.

Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve technical or complex quality issues.
Skills and Experience:

Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience completing FAIRs to AS9102 standards.

Completion of an indentured apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (preferred).

Prior experience inspecting complex aerospace components (preferred).

Familiarity with or ability to program inspection equipment such as CMMs and Faro Arms (preferred).

Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional training on inspection equipment may be provided for the right candidate.
