Social Emotional and Mental Health needs Assistant – Blandford Forum

Position: Full-Time 

The school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where our students can thrive. We cater for children aged 7 - 19 years old with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH and ASD. Our dedicated staff work closely with each student to support their unique journey towards independence and learning success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning experiences
  • Assist students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers

What We’re Looking For:

  • A compassionate and patient individual with a genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support is preferable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • A positive attitude and a desire to make a difference
