Electronic Design Engineer, Hybrid working – Home / Whitchurch, Shropshire site (walking distance from train station). Salary c40k dependant on skills / experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Design Engineer to work for a forward thinking and fast-growing business who specialise in laser coding, marking and engraving systems. You will be joining a dynamic technical team and contributing to the design and development of cutting-edge solutions. You will be responsible for designing (including PCB design), prototyping, building, and manufacturing electrical components for Laser systems in adherence to safety standards EN13849 and EN6001.

You will also be involved with maintaining, fault finding and performing repairs on systems. You will also have the opportunity to work with the wider operations team assembling and testing systems and training of engineers.

Electronic Design Engineer key responsibilities:

  • Electrical System Design: Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts for laser systems.
  • PCB design.
  • Compliance: Ensure designs meet industry standards, codes, and regulations (EN13849 & EN6001).
  • Component Selection: Specify and evaluate electrical components for use in our systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Oversee prototype development and testing to validate design functionality and reliability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including CAD drawings, technical manuals, and test reports.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyse and resolve electrical design challenges during development and production phases.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a similar Electronic Design Engineer / Electronics Engineer role, preferably with an understanding of motion systems / safety systems machinery.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and control systems and their design.
  • PCB Design experience using CAD software.
  • Training and/or knowledge of ISO / EN standards / codes of practice and how to practically apply them to electronic design and build.
  • Hold a relevant Electronics qualification
  • Be willing to learn, relishes responsibility, is confident, humble and honest.
