Our client, a National Civil Engineering Contractor are seeking to appoint an experienced Construction Background Safety Advisor for a new Groundworks and Formed Reinforced Concrete Project at a Nuclear licensed site in West Cumbria.

The Role:

As a HSEQ Advisor you will support the project to meet the requirements of the Safety Quality and Environment Management systems.

The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognising hazards and seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, environmental and Quality standards.

You will champion HSEQ initiatives in the workplace whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

Occupational health Support the provision of occupational health within the business, under the direction of the Head of HSEQ Support the communication and promotion of the monthly themes Promote the value of occupational health at a local level Advice and support Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice to employees

Provide support to business units on HSE initiatives Provide support on HSE issues/problem

Produce HSE statistics on a monthly basis, identify trends and take proactive initiatives Communications

Contribute to general communications at a local level Produce and communicate safety alerts following incidents to promote learning and prevention Accident/incident investigations Undertake timely investigations Keep project management informed on status

Identify root causes

Produce safety alerts as above

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential NEBOSH general certificate, or equivalent CEnv, or equivalent Extensive experience within a civil engineering environment

Effective communicator with strong presentation and report writing skills

Client facing experience

Analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations High standard of written English Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines

Good communication skills, including professional telephone manner

Ability to liaise with staff and operatives at all levels Proficiency in using Microsoft Office package

CSCS Safety Professional card

Ability to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone

High quality standards, e.g. attention to detail

Ability to lead by/set a good example

A passion for Health, Safety, Environment & Quality.

UK Construction Site Experience is required as is a full background check.

Preference is for someone who is seeking Long Term Employment as opposed to Job Hopper's !

Minimum 5 Years UK Residence and Clean Criminal Record or you wont pass Security Clearance !
