Quality and Applications Support Technician

Location: Whitstable

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Our client is a leading manufacturer of engineered components, supplying high-quality products to customers in regulated, safety-critical environments. They are looking for a Quality and Applications Support Technician to join their engineering team and play a crucial role in maintaining product quality, supporting customers and suppliers, and contributing to continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for internal teams and external customers requiring technical assistance
  • Provide root cause diagnostics and solutions through calls, video meetings, or customer site visits
  • Support with installation, troubleshooting, and technical queries related to existing and new products
  • Assist with customer audits and technical assessments, including follow-up actions
  • Manage incoming product inspections and support with Certificates of Conformity (COP) and inspection reports
  • Collaborate with quality teams to analyse customer complaints and identify root causes
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues through non-conformance reporting (NCRs) and corrective actions (CARs)
  • Maintain CAD drawings and technical documents, ensuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements
  • Support the engineering change process (ECNs) and new product introduction
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date product and inventory data within the ERP system
  • Analyse customer quality data to highlight trends and improvement opportunities
  • Produce reports and presentations for internal and external use
  • Maintain accurate records of technical and quality documentation

Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience using SolidWorks
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks

Desirable:

  • Experience within the automotive or safety-critical industries
  • Background in quality assurance and/or engineering administration
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and homologation standards
